How do vaping devices work?
A battery powers a coil which heats a liquid solution. This produces a vapor which is then inhaled. All vaping devices operate using this same principle.
Can I quit smoking by vaping?
Electronic cigarettes have been developed as a “lifestyle” or consumer product (some times referred to as tobacco harm reduction) and not as a medicine or a medical product. Regulatory authorities in some countries have determined that electronic cigarettes should be regulated as a medication delivery device since the liquid contains nicotine. Manufacturers cannot make statements claiming electronic cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid because this claim implies medical use.
As consumers, we are allowed to anecdotally share our own experiences about our own electronic cigarette usage and experience. There is no way we can tell you with certainty that vaping will help you quit smoking. What we can tell you is that many users have successfully switched from smoking cigarettes to vaping.
We believe that vaping offers a less harmful alternative for smokers to make the transition away from cigarettes. Quitting smoking is dependent on many factors such as how motivated you are to quit and how satisfying your vaping experience is. With the new and improved products coming on the market, it is easier for someone to find the device that is right for them.

Is vaping safe?
Electronic cigarettes have not been proven harmless, however, they are generally considered significantly less harmful than smoking.
Although some future health risks from electronic cigarette use may emerge , these are likely to be only a small fraction of the risks of smoking. This is because electronic cigarettes do not contain the chemicals from combustion which we know cause lung and heart disease and cancer.
Low levels of toxins and carcinogens have been detected in electronic cigarette liquid and vapor. These levels are much lower than those found in conventional cigarette smoke and are not considered to pose any second hand inhalation risk. Is e-liquid safe?
Not all e-liquids or juices are created equally. While there is not yet a Federal mandate on standardization, the industry itself has developed standards for e-liquid manufacturing.
AEMSA (American E-liquid Manufacturing Standards Association) is the first and only Manufacturers’ trade association completely dedicated to creating responsible and sustainable standards for the safe manufacturing of e-liquids. AEMSA is an all-volunteer organization, formed by American manufacturers of e-liquids, to promote safety and responsibility through self-regulation.
The standards include: maintaining full certification throughout chain of custody on raw materials used in the manufacturing process; approved ingredients, non-approved ingredients; process, records and traceability of all products; manufacturing environment (a real lab type setting); employee safety; safe packaging and delivery of products.
Very few juice manufacturers are AEMSA certified. The process is long and very expensive. Not only do the manufacturers have to pay a fee to become certified, there is a hefty monthly fee, evidently in perpetuity. Some manufacturers are AEMSA compliant, but not certified, because the fees can be prohibitive for a small manufacturer.
We carry only American made e-liquid. All of our e-liquid suppliers are AEMSA certified or compliant. If a company won’t show their manufacturing facilities on their website or on Youtube, you can probably assume they have something to hide. We will never sell e-liquid bottled in someone’s basement, kitchen or bathroom. We recommend you avoid any e-liquid from a manufacturer who is not AEMSA certified or compliant, or from an unknown facility outside the United States.
What are PG or VG liquids?
PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glycerin, or glycerol) are ingredients in e-liquid which create the vapor. Both are widely used in a variety of products for human consumption. Both are completely non-toxic and in some cases have 70 years of medicinal history and research.
PG is associated with a stronger throat hit but with less visible vapor. PG presents flavors well. PG is used in inhaled treatments. Reactions or sensitivities are rare but do occur.
VG has a sweet taste and produces a more visible vapor. It gives less of a throat hit and does not present flavors well. VG can be made several different ways and because of this, someone might be sensitive to one or more brands.
Some e-liquids contain a blend of both ingredients to balance out the characteristics of each.
Which e-liquid should I use?
Choosing an e-liquid is as personal as choosing an ice cream flavor. The best thing to do is to try different flavors; different brands; different PG/VG blends. We have testers of all of our flavors. Our Halo testers are 12mg strength; all the others are 0mg. We encourage you to spend some time and try as many flavors as you would like.
As far as what nicotine level to choose: if you smoke about a pack a day, we recommend you start with 12 or 18mg. If you find that this strength is not satisfying your cigarette cravings, try vaping longer, slower inhales, really slow, like 5-7 seconds. Quick, sharp hits on your e-cigarette will not get much nicotine into you. Also, try holding the vapor in your mouth before inhaling it. If these techniques don’t improve your satisfaction then jump up to 20 or 24mg.
Some people choose to vape different flavors throughout the day. Some choose to vape a lower mg level in the evening. As you become more experienced, you will find what works for you.
Why does my atomizer or cartomizer taste burnt?
Atomizers and cartomizers both contain a heating element. The heating element, when kept properly wet with e-liquid, will not burn out as quickly. The e-liquid under normal conditions keeps the heating element at an optimal temperature to create vapor but does not allow the element to overheat. When an atomizer runs dry, the heating element is not able to keep cool enough to keep from overheating and the result is a burnt coating of e-liquid that forms on and around the heating element. A burnt atomizer will still produce vapor, but this vapor is created through the burnt e-liquid coating, creating a constant burnt taste. Low resistance atomizers and clearomizers are more prone to being able to burn e-liquid due to the extra heat they produce. Keeping low resistance atomizers wet is crucial to eliminating burning. The heating element of a cartomizer is wrapped in a polyester fabric which if not kept wet will burn very quickly. A cartomizer can be damaged permanently by just running dry once.
